sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-generic restricted-manager

Open the restricted drivers manager included in 7.04 “System -> Administration -> Restricted Drivers Manager” and select “ATI accelerated graphics driver”.

Due to this, I try to make my new hdd become my secondary hdd. But somehow, my motherboard can’t detect it. Oh, why huh? Oops, forget to mention my board is under Abit and Amd cpu. I am getting some advice from Abit official forum support team. They give me a good feedback and after my continue research, I figure my problem.

Did anybody know we must check the transfer rate of a SATA hdd. Who else bother to check even me. ^^

According to WD website,

Drives manufactured prior to December 1, 2005 have a 150 MB/s buffer to host transfer rate

Ya, my primary hdd is under 150 MB/s buffer which my motherboard can support till this speed only. But with the new WD hdd I get is at 300 MB/s buffer. That’s why my motherboard can’t display it.

However, WD had make this new SATA hdd got jumper slot which we can set jumper like ATA hdd.

So, it’s easy to solve by just set the jumper to pin 5 / 6 to solve my problem ^^

I also can upgrade it back to 300 MB/s at my future motherboard upgrade which support 300 MB/s SATA hdd. ^^
